Finding Cheap Office Chairs

A good office chair can be one of the most expensive things you can purchase for your home office. It is also, however, one of the most important. You're going to be spending a lot of time in that chair but you'll still need to balance your comfort and health versus the overall cost of the chair. This is especially true considering that certain types of office chairs can stretch into the hundreds of dollars range.

So buying yourself a brand new office chair can be an exercise in frustration. You need to find high quality yet cheap office chairs.

Do you actually need to buy a brand new office chair? Have you ever considered that perhaps used office chairs might be an option? When you say the word "used" to most people they associate the words "old", "smelly" and "dirty" with that word. This is a big mistake. Used office furniture can vary from the dirty, old and smelly stuff to perfectly clean, almost new items that you will be able to find with little or no trouble and buy at incredibly low prices.

So where do you start looking?

1. Local auction houses
Most towns, no matter how small, will have a local auction house where you'll normally be able to find a variety of office chairs. Some of these will be junk but every so often you will find a high quality office chair being sold at a good price.

2. Call centres
If there is a call centre or similar business in your town they can be one of your best sources for cheap office equipment. Why? Because call centres throw out chairs every single day. Yes they just throw them into dumpsters and leave them there. Some of these chairs only have small scratches or minor tears in the fabric. Some of them just need to be cleaned. Nothing more.

Also every 12 months or so a call centre will have to replace the bulk of their chairs and other equipment. Many of them sell off their old ergonomic office chairs for a few dollars to anyone who's interested. I once bought 3 almost new office chairs from a call centre for $25 each. They were worth at least $200 brand new. Get in touch with the call centre and ask for their facilities manager and see when they next plan on upgrading their office chairs.

3. eBbay
It's amazing how often people forgot to use Ebay for finding items like cheap office chairs. Most people associate ebay with smaller items like watches and Yu Gi Oh cards. This is so far from the truth. Ebay is one of the most common ways for people to buy and sell anything from toys to sport cars.

I won't go into much detail here but if you don't have an Ebay account then go and get one today. It's like having the worlds biggest secondhand store in front of you and you can see how reliable the seller is before you ever part with your money.Go to eBay US or eBay UK.

One of the above 3 ideas will definitely allow you to find an office chair at a much, much lower price then you ever expected possible.
